Legal Help For Veterans with Employment Issues

The rights of workers are protected across the board in America, but you may not be aware that there is specific legislation that protects veterans in particular. Under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) certain military veterans have Protected Veteran Status.

The law states: “As a protected veteran under Section 4212, you have the right to work in an environment free of discrimination. You cannot be denied employment, harassed, demoted, terminated, paid less or treated less favorably because of your veteran status. If you are an employee and a disabled veteran you can request, and your employer must provide you, “reasonable accommodation,” to allow you to perform your job, unless doing so would cause the employer significant difficulty or expense.”

This means that you cannot be discriminated against because of your veteran status. It also means that some industries are required to proactively seek out veterans to hire.

If you think you have been treated unfairly because of your veteran status, contact us and one of our lawyers for veterans will take a look at your case and help you move forward.

Legal Help For Veterans Whose Benefits Have Been Denied

There are many benefits that veterans receive after their service in the military. These are crucial for helping individuals reacclimate themselves with American life after serving the country.

Some benefits you may be eligible for include:

  • Disability compensation
  • Education grants
  • Veteran pension
  • Medical care at specialized hospitals

Unfortunately, many veterans receive a letter from the VA saying that they have been denied benefits. This can happen for a number of reasons but oftentimes these benefits are wrongly denied. When this happens many veterans simply give up, but there’s no reason to panic, we can provide you with the support you need to win your case.

Reach out to any of our VA attorneys and we will help ensure your benefits are not denied. Call or fill out a form to get started.

TFNL Group – Serving Those Who Have Served Us

At The Fierberg National Law Group, we take very seriously the sacrifices veterans have made. That’s why we go above words and honor your accomplishments.

Here’s how the Firm does that:

  1. The Firm discounts its fees for services to veterans by ten (10%) percent. For example, depending on the legal jurisdiction, most Firms charge a one-third contingency fee for personal injury actions.  For veterans, we reduce that fee by 10%; and
  2. The Firm donates that 10% to a charitable organization that assists veterans and their families. While we prefer certain organizations, our veteran clients have the right to designate the organization that will best put this money to good use.

When you search for legal help for veterans, we hope that you’ll find all the help you need with our team. We’re ready to serve you.
