“The plaintiffs themselves have never agreed in any way or form that the defendants – quote – did no wrongdoing – unquote,” Beck said.
The plaintiffs are two women who said that when they attended Macomb High School, a male student sexually assaulted and harassed them repeatedly on school grounds. The women said they reported what happened to them but school administrators failed to take any action.
They filed suit more than two years ago.
“The plaintiffs believe that they did achieve justice through the lawsuit and the settlement,” said Beck.
The school board approved the lawsuit settlement this week.
Neither side is releasing details about the agreement.
